Cute, Homemade Wedding Favours and Wedding Table Decorations

In times of economic difficulty, planning a wedding is harsh on strained budgets, regardless of how finance savvy you are. Tiny details like wedding favours may be the last thing on your mind and your budget, but that does not mean they should be tossed aside or saved for the last minute! If anything, saving money on wedding favours means that you should spend time planning them out (not necessarily spending all your time executing the creation of these homemade favours).

CDs

Let the bride and groom pick about fifteen of their favorite songs and burn them onto a CD. This is a very simple thing to do (unless the bride and groom are particularly musically inclined...) and once one CD is made, the rest of them can be easily copied and handed out as wedding favours. CDs can be burned for free if you have a CD burner on your computer, and the only raw materials necessary to buy are the blank CDs. When buying in bulk, CDs can be bought at very low prices to make lots of memorable compilations of music for your guests. An alternative to favorite songs of the couple are songs played at the wedding reception or popular wedding songs.

Chocolate Covered Anything

Okay, maybe not anything, but chances are, your guests like chocolate. This works better for wedding table decorations, but chocolate covered fruit or candies present on the tables during the wedding reception are a cute way to decorate and provide the guests with something delicious as they ponder the lovely ceremony they just experienced. Taking it a step further, common wedding favours often include some kind of chocolate or candy, which can serve as wedding table decorations that the guests can take home with them.

Mini-Scrapbooks

This is only a viable idea for wedding favours if the wedding or reception is going to be relatively small (or family based), but photos are always a cute way to share the couple's love. Putting together a small photo album that details the bride and groom's journey to the altar is a good thing to send home with each guest. After all, they are there to celebrate your love. During the wedding reception, make sure to take a picture with each guest or family and mail it out with thank-you cards after the honeymoon. Leave a blank slot or page in the photo album for them to fill in after the wedding is over. If you are having a large wedding, this is obviously not cost efficient or even possible to make that many mini-scrapbooks, but anything based on pictures will be appreciated by your guests.

The key to successful wedding favours is making them cost effective and fun for the guests to take home. Making them yourself will add a personal touch to each of the favours and you will have fun making them as well.
