Why Wedding Photo Booth Hire Provides More Than Just Entertainment

One of the best things after a wedding is looking through the photographs that were taken by guests at the reception. The chances are though, that unless you go round everyone who attended, you'll only see a few of the snaps they took. As well as photos, the happy couple often get a memento from guests after the reception, such as a book with well-wishes and congratulations written in it.

What if you could combine these things, and in a way that can be shared by everyone? Organise a photo booth hire for your wedding, and you'll do just that.

Having a booth at your wedding is an easy process, as the hire company sets everything up for you and looks after the booth during the evening. You'll find that a photobooth at the reception is a big draw for your guests, with most eager to participate. It's fun, it's informal and it's something that bride & groom and guests alike can share and enjoy.

Because a photo booth is there for much of the reception - normally four hours - guests can pop in and out of it all evening, going in pairs or groups to have a laugh. The merriment's helped along with silly props like wigs, hats and fake moustaches!

As in all photo booths, once the pics are taken a photo strip is produced for the participants to keep. The clever part is that the photos are later given to the bride & groom as well. As a rule, the photos can be placed onto a cd, put online within the hire company's website, or posted to Facebook. That means that almost everyone who was at the wedding can share memories of the occasion. And those who had to miss it can enjoy viewing the photos as well.

So what about that combination mentioned earlier? A good photo booth hire company will provide a guest book where selected photos are inserted, along with a handwritten message from the guests in the pictures. Every newly-wed couple wants to know that their guests had a good time at the wedding, so what better way to let them see that?

Hiring a photo booth for your wedding will provide fun, laughter and entertainment for your guests. More importantly, it will give you a keepsake of the day unlike anything else. There's nothing to beat great memories - and these are memories you can revisit whenever you want!

Cute, Homemade Wedding Favours and Wedding Table Decorations

In times of economic difficulty, planning a wedding is harsh on strained budgets, regardless of how finance savvy you are. Tiny details like wedding favours may be the last thing on your mind and your budget, but that does not mean they should be tossed aside or saved for the last minute! If anything, saving money on wedding favours means that you should spend time planning them out (not necessarily spending all your time executing the creation of these homemade favours).

CDs

Let the bride and groom pick about fifteen of their favorite songs and burn them onto a CD. This is a very simple thing to do (unless the bride and groom are particularly musically inclined...) and once one CD is made, the rest of them can be easily copied and handed out as wedding favours. CDs can be burned for free if you have a CD burner on your computer, and the only raw materials necessary to buy are the blank CDs. When buying in bulk, CDs can be bought at very low prices to make lots of memorable compilations of music for your guests. An alternative to favorite songs of the couple are songs played at the wedding reception or popular wedding songs.

Chocolate Covered Anything

Okay, maybe not anything, but chances are, your guests like chocolate. This works better for wedding table decorations, but chocolate covered fruit or candies present on the tables during the wedding reception are a cute way to decorate and provide the guests with something delicious as they ponder the lovely ceremony they just experienced. Taking it a step further, common wedding favours often include some kind of chocolate or candy, which can serve as wedding table decorations that the guests can take home with them.

Mini-Scrapbooks

This is only a viable idea for wedding favours if the wedding or reception is going to be relatively small (or family based), but photos are always a cute way to share the couple's love. Putting together a small photo album that details the bride and groom's journey to the altar is a good thing to send home with each guest. After all, they are there to celebrate your love. During the wedding reception, make sure to take a picture with each guest or family and mail it out with thank-you cards after the honeymoon. Leave a blank slot or page in the photo album for them to fill in after the wedding is over. If you are having a large wedding, this is obviously not cost efficient or even possible to make that many mini-scrapbooks, but anything based on pictures will be appreciated by your guests.

The key to successful wedding favours is making them cost effective and fun for the guests to take home. Making them yourself will add a personal touch to each of the favours and you will have fun making them as well.

The Top 4 Techniques for Excellent Wedding Photography

The introduction of several photography trainings and programs has opened the opportunity for many aspiring photographers to learn and master the techniques of wedding photography. As the trend improves itself through time, many relevant wedding photo techniques were already mastered and being practiced by several wedding photographers.

You may wonder what's with wedding photography that makes it so interesting and exciting. Aside from the fact that photos are considered as one of the most wonderful memorabilia of a wedding, it's also considered one of the most effective ways of showing creativity and expressing art. And if learning more about wedding photography is one of your major plans this year, then here are the top 4 techniques that are surely effective to help you come up with the best wedding photo results.

1. The blend of colours and light. A well-skilled wedding photographer knows the relevance of combining the right colours and intensity of brightness to the overall result of the photo. Light and other distracting colours can sometimes ruin photo quality and can even lead to poor resolution. It is an advice to always check the amount of light and the synchronization of colours especially when it's an outdoor wedding event. Finding the right camera angle is another important consideration in line. It is said that best shots are acquired when you take photos using the 45o from below. For several photographers, this angle is perfect for a clearer and more attractive result.

2. The choice of background. The impressive result of a wedding photo highly depends on the kind of background you use. Remember: a perfect main subject would only turn out unappealing if no proper choice of background is observed. Think of something that will make the wedding photo stand-out. You can plan to take pre-nuptial shots inviting the couple to pose to several spots that presents nature and urban settings. You can also design it as something trendy with glitters of fashion which is becoming popular now.

3. The camera setting. Set up your camera to the appropriate setting. Indoor events usually require different settings from outdoor occasions mainly due to the presence of light. Consider also the setting differences when taking captures to a still and moving objects. Along with that, you also have to take extra careful on the adjustments on the resolution, angle and distance from the object especially if it involves a combination of one or more images.

4.The subject position. Higher attraction and uniqueness is achieved when you know how to display your subject to a certain position. You can take photos at different angles with just a standing subject and still come up with stunning photos. Remember: always observe organization and proper subject arrangement before taking the hit button. Another great way to make your wedding photo standout is to arrange subjects according to size, height or color. If you are already skilled enough to do the tricks, you can combine subjects and create variation of positions and come up with the most attractive photos.

The resulting poor photo results usually points to the lack of knowledge of some wedding photographers when they're out doing their job. Don't let this happen to you.

Remember: it takes practice and exposure to master the techniques of wedding photography. So if ever you see yourself enjoying the experience, don't hesitate to spend time learning more of it.

Great Spots for Wedding and Engagement Photography in the San Francisco Bay Area

San Francisco Wedding Photographer - Great Spots for an Engagement Portrait!

There is no doubt that the San Francisco Bay Area is one of the most beautiful and sought after places in the world to say I do! Brides and Grooms are 'Spoilt for choice' when it comes to selecting a perfect location for their Engagement Portrait! We have some of the most fabulous natural and man made beauty in the world here in the Bay. From the sweeping views of downtown San Francisco to the lush vineyards of Sonoma and Napa, the San Francisco Bay Area delivers a world class package when it comes to Wedding and Engagement Photography. One of the benefits of being a San Francisco Wedding Photographer, is that I get to photograph couples in a variety of locations with breathtaking natural beauty. I thought that this would be a good place to give you my take on all this, so here we go!

You're Engaged!

Once you're engaged, one of the things on your to-do list will probably be the hunt for a fabulous Wedding Photographer. One of the best, most exciting parts of Wedding Photography is shooting an Engagement Portrait! Its so much fun for the couple and the Wedding Photographer to spend an afternoon together in a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure or time constraint. One of the biggest benefits of having an engagement portrait is that it gives you the chance to get to know your Wedding Photographer - most couples that have taken an Engagement Portrait are more relaxed when taking photos on their Wedding Day as they already know how their photographer works and they feel more at ease. It's tough having your picture taken by someone you have never met! Most of the great Wedding Photographers I know typically include an Engagement Session as part of their Wedding Packages.

So, you're Engaged AND you've found that fabulous Wedding Photographer - but how to and where to take photos?! In my experience, i'ts important to head for locations that are meaningful to you, places that stir emotion and feeling between the two of you - maybe the site of that first stroll along the beach, or a first kiss, the proposal, the spot that 'I love you' was first uttered or a favorite place that you both go to be alone with each other. There are so many special places to take your engagement portrait! Here are a few of my favorites....

Golden Gate Bridge from Baker Beach

Some of the most spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge can be seen from Baker Beach. It's like a postcard, the Marin Headlands visible to the east coupled with the rugged cliffs of Baker Beach, clean sands and the crystal blue and green Pacific Ocean surf. I love shooting here.

Golden Gate Bridge from Crissy Field

Photographing your Engagement Portrait from Crissy Field gives a different perspective from that of Baker Beach. Crissy Field is Bay side, south of the Golden Gate and offers sensational views of Marin County and some San Francisco landmarks, including the Palace of Fine Arts.

Sutro Baths

Sutro Baths provide a really great rustic look with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, the Farallon Islands and the famous Cliff House.

The Palace of Fine Arts

The Palace of Fine Arts is unique in that it offers both a refined and rustic appeal full of San Francisco character and artistic history. It really is a fabulous location - grand and glorious.

The Palace of the Legion of Honor

One of San Francisco's most famous landmarks, the Palace of the Legion of Honor offers staggering views of the city, the pacific ocean as well as offering a plethora of wonderful locations within the grounds of the palace for beautiful pictures. the Palace of the Legion of honor is among my favorite places to photograph an engagement portrait.

Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park has acres and acres - 1,017 acres of gorgeous, lush parkland to take world class engagement portraits! I have photographed many couples here. There are so many locations within the park that make for amazing pictures. Some of my favorite spots include the Botanical Gardens, The Japanese Tea Gardens, JFK Drive, The Conservatory of Flowers and Stowe Lake.

Potrero Hill

For those who love sweeping city views, Potrero hill is a fabulous location - especially on a clear day. Potrero Hill sits within one of the best micro-climates in San Francisco and the views of the City are usually unobstructed by the fog.

China Basin

On a clear, sunny day China Basin offers some of the most wonderful bayside photo opportunities. You can get close to the water with fabulous backdrops such as the world famous Giants Stadium and the Bay Bridge as backdrops. China Basin has undergone significant development in recent years. As a result, it's a great spot for those seeking clean lines and a modern, sharp feel to their pictures

China Town

China Town is full of color and variety. I have found that this area works well for those who are looking to draw sharp contrasts between clean lines, vibrant asian colors and the bustle and grime of a working market that never sleeps. It's a fabulous place to shoot!

University of California Berkeley

The University of California Berkeley is an absolutely wonderful location for an Engagement Portrait. With a plethora of buildings dating well over a hundred years old and all the character that comes with structures of this era the campus offers a wealth of gorgeous backdrops that are both romantic and striking.

Lawrence Hall of Science, Berkeley

Nestled in the Berkeley Hills high above Cal Berkeley, the Lawrence hall of Science offers some of the most breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay Area I have ever seen - pick a clear day and you'll hardly believe the views. After photographing Fre and Al at Cal we drove up the hill to the Lawrence Hall of Science to capture the amazing view and incredible sunset. Gorgeous scenery and world class views make this a prime spot for a terrific engagement session!

The Japanese Tea Gardens - Golden Gate Park

The Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate park are a tropical paradise - a garden of Eden for Wedding Photographers!! Perhaps the most difficult part of photographing a couple in the gardens is working out exactly where to photograph them - everywhere you look there are amazing spots!!

Ways to Create a Keepsake of Your Wedding Invitation

Your wedding invitation is truly a one-of-a-kind remembrance of your special day since it provides a record of some of the most important details. It is always recommended that a few extra invitations be ordered to save as souvenirs of your wedding, but chances are they will be placed in your wedding album and eventually packed away.

Why not create a memento of your wedding invitation that is more permanent and can be easily displayed in your home as a special remembrance.

Especially since all the formal details of your wedding day appear within your invitation text - date, time of ceremony, time of dinner/reception, name and address of ceremony location, name and address of dinner/reception locale - as well as maybe a special verse or quote chosen by you and your fiance. The invitation design itself may also be symbolic of the colors or theme of your wedding.

Having your invitation wording permanently imprinted on a keepsake item is a wonderful way to uniquely commemorate your wedding day. Here are some suggested items that can be engraved with your wedding invitation verse:

  • Photo Album - A great way to personalize a wedding album is to have your invitation wording elegantly engraved on the front cover. This way every time you look through your cherished wedding pictures you will be able to see your invitation verse too.

  • Wedding Invitation Frame - Create a lasting souvenir by using a beautiful glass frame to display your favorite wedding photo as well as feature your invitation verse delicately etched on it.

  • Glass Block - A simple, but elegant, glass or lucite sculpture piece can be engraved with your wedding invitation text to create an exquisite remembrance of your special day.

  • Commemorative Plate - Easily hung on a wall or placed on an easel for table-top display, a decorative plate engraved or etched with your invitation verse will make a wonderful memento for years to come.

With all of your planning and preparations, creating a wedding invitation keepsake may not be a high priority before your wedding, but this is easily something you can have designed later since you may even receive one of these personalized items as a wedding gift.

Your wedding is without a doubt one of the most important days of your life so give some thought to creating a lasting souvenir of your wedding invitation to preserve all the details of your special day. As the years go by, you will undoubtedly be glad you did.

Entertaining Your Wedding Guests Between the Ceremony and the Reception

Have you ever arrived at a wedding reception only to wait an extended period of time for the bride and groom because they are taking wedding photos? This transition time between ceremony and reception can be awkward for your guests if you have not planned ahead. There are several things you can do to make this transition go more smoothly for you and your wedding guests.

  • Assign a couple of friends or family members to act as reception greeters. Your greeters can point guests in the direction of refreshments, where to place wedding gifts, where to place coats, signing of the guest book, and seating arrangements. Your wedding guests will be thankful to have such knowledgeable assistance when they arrive at your reception.

  • Plan to have refreshments for your wedding guests, this can be anything as simple as cookies or candy, to appetizers or vegetable trays. What better way to keep your guests happy and busy than to feed them!

  • Prior to your reception, place disposable cameras on the reception tables. Your wedding guests can begin taking photos of each other before the bride and groom arrive and steal the show. You will look back and cherish these fun photos as your guests play around with the cameras.

  • Show an ongoing slide show or video of the bride and groom when they were children. Your guests are sure to get a kick out of all your goofy kid pictures!

  • Ask a friend or relative who owns a video camera to interview your wedding guests. You will definitely receive some fun and heart-felt comments you will cherish for years to come.

  • Provide a coloring table or simple craft table for your younger guests. The adults will be happy the children have something to occupy their time.

  • Create a small art gallery from photos you have taken together as a couple. Place your photos along one of the walls in the reception hall and your guests can attend your very own art gallery opening!

Your wedding guests are just that, guests. Don't make them wait around without any direction. Plan ahead and fill the transition time between the ceremony and the reception with entertaining things for your wedding guests to do. Your guests will be pleased and grateful you thought about them!

Find Out How To Create A Wedding Photo Book Online

The reason why a wedding photo book is slightly different from every other aspect of your wedding planning is that it will continue to exist and be enjoyed as the years go by and the anniversaries roll around. Every other part of your special day will become a memory, but the album full of wedding photographs will actually be a physical manifestation of those memories, and so getting it exactly right will enable you to live and relive the best day of your lives over and over again. Of course, most people simply hire a professional photographer and leave it at that, relying on someone with vast experience to know how to go about recording the key moments of the wedding.

Although a collection of images captured by a professional will be of a reliably high standard, they will also tend to be more than a little bit predictable, concentrating on the standard 'big moments' of the wedding such as the first dance, cutting the cake and so on. Each wedding is different, however, reflecting the personalities of the couple involved and their friends and family, and, using the power of digital technology it's possible to create photo albums which fully reflect this individuality.

It's highly likely, for example, that everyone attending your wedding brings along their own digital camera or, at the very least, some other device which is capable of capturing images, such as a tablet or an iPhone. After the event, you can ask these people to send you their images as digital files, and then build up a collection in the form of an online photo books which truly captures the individual flavor of the day. Candid shots taken by individuals will be quirky and individual in a manner which a professional photographer simple doesn't have the time to contemplate. Cute shots of the children at the wedding dances, or of a group of elderly uncles propping up the bar and setting the world to rights, will reflect the flavor of the day as it actually was at the time.

When you've selected your favorite images, mixing and matching the amateur photographs with the professional shots, you can upload them to the website of your choice and set about creating your wedding photo book online. There's every chance that you'll be both surprised and delighted to discover just how easy it is to make photo books online every aspect of the book can be selected via a series of simple, logical choices, starting with the front and back cover (luxurious white leather, for example) and then moving through the number of pages and the layout of each individual page. Using simple click and drag technology you'll be able to tweak the layout of each individual page, deciding whether to go for a chronological arrangement, or one which juxtaposes the formal images with their more casual counterparts. When the images are in place you can even opt to add your own explanatory text.

Not only is producing photo books online incredibly simple, but it also results in volumes which are printed using a combination of the latest techniques and the very best materials.

Easy Wedding Favors

Choosing wedding favors can be the one part of the wedding planning that is easy and stress free. Even though it is simple to choose wedding favors, it is best not to leave shopping for them to the last minute. When you realize that the wedding day is fast approaching and the wedding favors have not been purchased, it is then that a simple task will add on to the already stressful time. Avoid this at all cost. In this article you will find several simple ideas that will help make shopping for wedding favors fun and easy.

One of the easiest wedding favor ideas is the use of flowers. There is practically no preparation involved in this wedding favor and depending on how many guests you have at the wedding you may not have to order the favors well in advance. You might consider giving your guests a single red rose as a favor. This is extremely fitting because a rose is a symbol of love. And the fact that it does not need to be wrapped adds to the convenience in using a rose as your wedding favor. Have the roses delivered to the location for the celebration. Once the tables have been set for the wedding, request a staff member, a friend or family member to place a single rose across the place setting for each guest. You can also select a flower which is used in your centerpiece and instruct your florist to place one flower at each place setting when they arrange the centerpieces.

Another creative idea for a wedding favor is using candy. Small boxes, tins and baskets are some of the more traditional ways of using candy as wedding favors. But a unique idea and one that will help with reducing cost for centerpieces is to place a large bowl filled with candy in the middle of each table. Notes can be used to encourage the guests to enjoy the candy and bags can be provided to allow guests to take additional candy home. Here again is a favor that does not need wrapping and the candy centerpiece can be as simple or elaborate as you desire.

Pictures frames are a very easy wedding favor especially if they are used as place card holders. Pictures frames are frequently used as wedding favors but must people spend a great deal of time wrapping each favor individually to create a beautiful presentation for the guests. However, this is not the only way to give a gift of picture frames. Wrapping each frame individually can be a lengthy process and can generate great deal of additional stress for the bride and the groom if they are struggling to get a lot of last minute things done in the days before the wedding. However, if you use the picture frames as a place card holder you do not have to worry about wrapping the favors for your guests. This makes it much easier to give a picture frames as favors.

A final thought for a very quick wedding favor is to provide each guest a digital photo of themselves at the wedding. You can achieve this by hiring a photographer to take a picture of each couple as they arrive at the wedding reception. You can request that the photographer bring a high speed printer along to print the photos out quickly. This way you can distribute the photos before your guests begin to leave the reception. This is a great idea for a wedding favor because your guests will likely be dressed up and will welcome the chance to pose for a professional photo. You can even ask the photographer if it is possible to put together a quick slide show presentation which the guests can view after all of the photos have been taken. Finally, presenting each guest with their own photograph of themselves would be a fun gift. This is easily accomplished by hiring a photographer to take pictures of all the guests as they arrive at the reception. As your guests will already be dressed for this special occasion, they will probably enjoy having a professional photographer taking their pictures. The goal is to have the pictures ready to be distributed to the guests before they leave the reception. With the use of a high speed printer your photographer should be able to meet this time frame and if time allows, it may be possible to have a slide show of all the pictures at the end of the reception. This way all the guests would receive their own pictures as individual keepsakes of your wedding and well as get to enjoy seeing pictures of all the other guests.

Weddings - The Sequential Order of How Your Wedding Photography Should Take Place

WEDDING SEQUENCE:

Here is a good way to work the wedding sequence as I see it.

1. First I come out an hour before your wedding starts and shoot photos of the bride getting ready with her mom, friends etc. These photos are mainly candid, but I will make it look like art in a natural and "real" way.

2. Then I will go over to the guys side of the venue and shoot all their formal and candid photos so as to have all the guys photos finished before the wedding even starts which saves time later.

3. Then I cover the ceremony from all angles. Once the ceremony ends, after the bride and groom do their walk back down the isle I would ask the bride and groom to then come back to the alter where you will meet your family and anyone that you would like in your formal photos.

[I would ask you to tell  your "main players", meaning the first two rows of seating in the front of the venue or church or who ever you want in your family photos to simply stay seated when they clear out the church or venue area where the ceremony took place, this way we can just have the bride and groom come back to the alter and we can then start the traditional family photos without having to track down the family] Then once your families come over to the alter ...I can say...."the brides side of the family come up for photos"...then have them stand aside...and I will say..."the grooms side come up"....then I will do some shots of both families as one big family [If you want me to only].....then any individual photos you want I will then ask you to simply point out the other people you would like to have in each photo. Or you can tell me their names and I will yell them out...or you can designate someone in your bridal party that knows everyone to grab people and gather them up in case they wonder off so this all goes smoothly...[if there is more then one family unit for either side, please let me know about step moms, dads...etc. and we can call them up by last names and do different family groupings too.]

Then once the family photos are done we will release the family to go to the reception area.

4. Then we will shoot the brides maids and groomsmen together and you can suggest whatever you want to do as well; being fun shots or formal only. Since we already shot all the groomsman's group photos before the wedding we can then release all the groomsman to the reception after these few photos of all the bridesmaids and groomsman together.

5. I will then shoot all the girls together and once we finish with that we will then release the girls to the reception too.

6. At that point it will be time for just the bride and groom to do their photos alone and once we finish creating some beautiful artistic images. THEN WE PARTY!

For the rest of the time I will float around your reception and capture all the other events without you having to ever worry about anything as I always capture it all. Of course you can ask me any time for a special photo of anyone you like. Please let me know if you have any changes to this sequence as i am here to create this entire process as custom to your needs as I can. Thank you!

Professional Wedding Photo Shoots

Wedding is a pleasant and special day for both the bride and the groom. Both of them want this day to be the best day of their lives. They want to remember this day through colorful and professionally taken photographs. Photo shoot of a wedding is one of the most important parts of wedding planning. People give great importance to this while they are under the process of wedding planning. You do not want ordinary pictures taken of your wedding ceremony; you want the pictures to look real and want to live the moment of the picture when ever you see that picture. To get all these qualities you need to hire a professional wedding photographer. These steps will guide you through the process of selection.

  1. First of all you have to sit down and discuss on the topic of photographs of your wedding with your fianc矇 and other important members of your family. In this discussion you will include: the number of photos, the moments you want to be photographed, the money you want to spend on this part of wedding etc.

  2. Now you need to determine a budget for this section of your wedding. Keep in mind that this is a very important and close to your heart section of your wedding and you do not want to care about the amount of money you are going to spend.

  3. Now you need to conduct proper research. Look around for professional photographers in your area. Check their on line portfolios and you can even check the pictures of your friends and family weddings; taken by these photographers.

  4. Contact those photographers which you think are the best in this field and are available at affordable prices. Hold a meeting with them and discuss the entire scenario including: the price of the whole session, the paper that will be used and the time period required to get the photographs back.

  5. Do not think that you are wasting time? Proper research does not only save money, it even gets you the best quality. No body wants to compromise on the quality of the pictures of their wedding. These pictures remain with the couples for years; they see these pictures again and again and share them with their loved ones. Complete this part of your wedding planning by hiring a professional photographer and live this special moment or the rest of your lives through these pictures.

4 Reasons to Rent a Photo Booth For Your Wedding Reception

You can't have it all: a DJ, band, videographer, photographer, huge cake, 5 star facility, etc. Unless of course you're a Trump (lucky you).

So why, with an average cost of around $800, is it smart to add a photo booth to your budget?

First, for the money, absolutely nothing adds as much excitement to your reception. Not even $800+ of alcohol! Break the ice with your attendees and give people something to talk about. Family members that haven't seen each other for a long time will be eager to take photos of themselves together...who knows when their next meeting will be?

Second, you're capturing permanent memories. Not just posed photos, but really spontaneous pictures of your and family acting goofy with odd props. You can take these photos and add them to scrapbook or take digital copies and upload them online.

Third, the booth is an opportunity to create contests. Maybe have the DJ stage a "funniest photo" contest. You can create trading games at tables with the photo strips as game pieces.

Finally, your guests will have the ultimate souvenir to take home from your wedding. How many party favors do you actually post on in your kitchen? That's a really valued party favor!

So add fun, memories, games, and a great party favor to your reception by renting a photo booth from a professional rental company. They will set up the booth, attend to the booth during the party, and pack the booth when the party is finished.

LDS Wedding Reception Picture List - Make Your Wedding Picture Perfect

LDS Weddings are Forever! Make sure that you get all the right wedding pictures for time and all eternity!

Work carefully with your wedding photographer (or family photographer or photo buff friend) to determine what types of shots will be included throughout the wedding day. Consider "must have" shots like:

• Groom buttoning up his vest or putting his shoes on
• Bride putting on her makeup or earrings
• Close up shots of the bride's jewelry and hairstyle
• Just the bride, just the groom
• Bride with all the bridesmaids, groom with all the groomsmen
• Bride with all the groomsmen, groom with all the bridesmaids (these make cute shots)
• Bride with bridesmaid, groom with the best man
• Bride and her mother
• Couple with bride's family, couple with groom's family
• Couple kissing
• Groom with the bride under her veil
• Couple with the temple in the background
• Close up shot of bride and groom's shoes as they stand beside each other
• Wedding party when they don't realize they're being photographed
• Close up of wedding rings and bridal bouquet
• Couple exiting the temple after the sealing
• Pictures of the ring ceremony at the wedding reception
• Picture of the entire wedding party with bride & groom and their families
• Bride and groom shaking hands and hugging well wishers in the reception line
• The Bridal Couple's first dance
• Cutting the wedding cake
• The Bride throwing her wedding bouquet at the reception

For those getting married in an LDS Temple, taking pictures on Latter-day Saint Temple grounds is a very important part of the day. Make sure that the photographer you choose understands the spiritual significance of the LDS temple to you and your family. Explain is you need ti that for you, it is much more than just a wedding venue: it is a powerful symbol of your religious commitments to God and your spouse. Even if your photographer is a Latter-day Saint, never assume that they understand your feelings about the temple or how you would like to portray that in your wedding pictures. Be specific in how many and what kinds of poses you would like to include the temple spire. Great shots include:

• The couple kissing or looking at each other in front of the temple
• The couple holding hands and facing toward the temple (photo is taken from behind)
• A shot taken from the ground looking upward at the bride, groom, and temple (emphasizing the soaring height of the temple spire)
• The groom "dipping" the bride in front of the temple (the contrast of the informal pose and the elegance of the temple and the wedding gown are delightful)
• The couple beneath an umbrella outside the temple (this is great on rainy or very sunny days)

Taking pictures outside the temple allows you to depict the importance of the sealing ordinance in your wedding pictures, and it also offers beautiful scenery. Temple grounds are always beautifully landscaped, just perfect for taking pictures. Use the surrounding trees, flowers, and plants as backdrops for your pictures. Benches and landscaped trails are often located on temple grounds and make great additions to your photos. Encourage your wedding photographer to visit the LDS temple's grounds ahead of time, preferably at the time of day you'll be taking your photos, to scout out the best picture-taking locations and assess where the best light will be.

Since even the smallest LDS wedding is sure to involve lots of immediate family and wedding party members so it's important to write and distribute not only the checklist but also an itinerary ahead of time. For example, if the wedding is scheduled at 2 P.M., then a wedding photo itinerary could read:

Bride and groom pictures 11:30 - 12:30
(list the location and/or pose)
Wedding party pictures 12:30 - 1
(list the locations, poses, and the names of those involved)
Family pictures 1 - 1:30
(list the locations, poses, and the names of those involved)

Not only does this give an indication to the photographer of how much time they've got to work with, it gets everybody on the same page. If everyone has a copy of the itinerary, then they know when they need to be present. No one will have to stand around being bored waiting for their turn and you won't have to worry about Grandpa taking a bathroom break just when it's time for the family photo.

Try These Fun Wedding Photo Ideas

The sad truth is that if you've looked through a few photo albums along classic lines then you've probably looked through them all. Although a seasoned photographer will be able to produce images of a technically high standard, and have them printed in a volume which is professionally constructed and put together, the chances are that they'll fall back on the same kind of images that have always been used. This is not particularly surprising, since weddings tend, by their very nature, to be traditional occasions which attract people with traditional tastes. That's why albums of this kind all tend to feature shots such as the happy couple signing the register, the first dance, all the brides' relatives together etc. The downside of this, however, is that an album such as this doesn't really reflect the individuality of the couple involved. Every wedding is a unique occasion, capturing the personalities of the bride and groom, and if you think a bit more about the contents of your wedding album, and create images which are slightly different, then you'll end up with a volume which more accurately captures this.

Rather than asking a professional photographer to break with the practice of a lifetime, however, you can now create your own bespoke volume by utilizing the flexibility of digital technology. It's possible to save digital images captured at your wedding and turn them into photo albums online, collecting together the very best photographs taken by the guests attending and using them to create a warm, surprising and intimate portrait of the day. Not only can these images be saved and brought together, but they can also be printed off as digital photo books, coffee table volumes bound and printed to the highest possible standard, preserving the magic of your special day forever between two covers, ready for you to go back and relive whenever you choose.

When it comes to ideas which are a little bit different, the only limit, quite literally, is your imagination and the portrait of your wedding which you wish to create. Just a few of the possibilities for distinctive wedding visuals are suggested below:

Take advantage of the locale - if your wedding reception takes place in the countryside, then get out in the wild to take the photographs. Similarly, if you're in the heart of a busy city, capture some images with a vibrant urban background. If a few passers-by stop to take a look or even join in, all the better!

Tell the whole tale - start with some candid images of the bride and groom getting ready in the morning and then, after the party's over, capture a few images of the mess and chaos caused in the wake of the celebration, upturned chairs, spilled beer, left over graffiti and all.

Keep it casual - the 'problem' with many traditional wedding albums is the somewhat staid and formal nature of most of the poses. Break away from this by gathering together images which have been captured without the subjects even knowing - the bride and groom sharing a private giggle at the top table, perhaps, or a young bridesmaid grimacing after stealing her first sip of champagne.

Props - keep a few amusing props scattered around the reception area. Before you know it, especially after a few drinks, people will start playing with the likes of inflatable animals, giant novelty sunglasses and sponge footballs, resulting in some hilarious shots.

When you've gathered all of your images together, selecting the ones which will create a unique and amusing portrait of your special day, it's time to make your own photo book. In the past, this was something which only the professionals could even attempt, but digital photography has brought it within everyone's reach. Having selected your images you merely have to upload them to the website of your choice. Then you set to work turning them into a personalized book, using software which has been designed with the beginner in mind. This means that it doesn't matter if you've little or no experience with computers or graphic design, since the process has been broken down into simple, logical steps. You'll get to make easy choices such as the size and shape of the book and the number of pages, and then allowed to lay out each page by dragging the images into position. It's up to you whether to go for a 'classic' traditional design or mix and match things for something more modern and quirky. By using text, backgrounds and frames you can create a volume which is truly unique and when you're totally happy it will be produced to professional standards, utilizing top quality materials and up to the minute techniques.

Starting a Wedding Photography Business

Creating a successful wedding photography business can be more of a challenge than one would think. Just because you can take a picture doesn't mean that starting your own wedding photography business will be smooth sailing. However there are certain building blocks one can take that will assist in creating yourself a successful start to your wedding photography business. First and most important building block is to build an efficient and thorough business/creative plan. This is the foundation and should include your objectives, your mission, and your keys to success.

Your foundation objectives will cover what it takes to produce the same outstanding quality results time after time, and what it will take to become recognized as a top wedding photographer. You mission should describe what you want to achieve and how you are going to do that. Your keys to success should include how you will fulfill your client's expectations and how you will accomplish this. How will you be competitive with your services offered? What kind of profits do you need to become successful competition?

Before you start you're first step is to find your identity. Have you figured it out? Be true to yourself and know your strengths and weaknesses as a photographer. Are you ready to start this financially and technically? Do you know your style and identity, and do you do it well? You should know how to describe your photography and vision. Are you more of a photo journalistic photographer who relies on natural available light and candid moments? Do you pre-plan and pose portraits and incorporate technical lighting skills giving a classic look. Or, do you mix it up with both, showing a full range of capabilities that give you your own modern contemporary style?

If you know what you want your photography and identity to look like but haven't achieved the look yet, maybe you need more work on your photography before you can establish your business.

Take a look at your photography and decide what level of talent you have and what potential you possess. Be critical of your work, but also have others critique your work for you. Learn how to use constructive criticism to improve your photography. If your identity isn't where you want it, ask yourself, what needs to be improved? Do you know your equipment (camera, lighting, etc) well enough? Do you know how to read and meter your exposures? Do you have the right equipment, i.e.: hi resolution digital camera and Photoshop? You need a digital camera to stay up with your competition. It is also of great importance to be proficient in Photoshop and Lightroom and your digital workflow. It is up to you to overcome any weakness with proper education and practice before you take on photographing a wedding.

Photographing a wedding is a big responsibility. Someone has paid a large amount of money and trust in you to document this special and personal day. This is why it is so important to be confident enough to step into any wedding that comes your way and do a solid job photographing it. Having your skills fine-tuned are just part of what it takes to build that foundation of confidence. The other huge part to building confidence is experience.

We all start out somewhere. So once you have your photography skills and workflow down, it is now time to test yourself and your identity. The first step is to know your value. Do you think you're up to shooting a wedding solo for $2000.00? Wait, you don't have any wedding pictures for a portfolio. How are you going to sell yourself as a wedding photographer? Well either you get lucky with someone who trusts and likes your photography regardless that you have never photographed a wedding. Or you decide to build your portfolio through being a second or third shooter for a more established wedding photographer. This is a great way to get exposure and experience in the wedding photography scene. A great way to approach this route is to call all of the local wedding photographers in your area and ask if anyone is in need of a second or third shooter. Once you find some work ask questions and pay close attention to how they run their business and how they photograph weddings. Everyone has a system. How they shoot the wedding ceremony, portraits, reception, etc. Use this position to your advantage and build relationships within the wedding industry. The more you learn, the faster you will be on your way to becoming competition. Remember to save money for when you make your transition out on your own.

Once you have some weddings under your belt your confidence will lead you at the right time to separate and become that competition that you have been working for. When you do choose, it should be all or nothing. Either stay on as a second shooter or take the risk and become competition.

After you have taken the jump into the unknown and exciting world of being your own boss. Your confidence as a photographer has grown and you now possess an identity as a wedding photographer. You can now start your wedding photography business wherever and whenever.

Hopefully you have invested in your own digital camera, backup camera, lenses, computer, Photoshop, etc. Your investment needs to have insurance. You cannot afford to have it stolen or broken; otherwise all your hard work will be for nothing. Also you should have liability insurance to C.Y.A. You can get photographers insurance through PPA.

Before you place yourself as competition in the wedding photography market you should know your competition. They are your best models to help get started. Take notice of what they charge for packages and what they include with their services. Where and how do they advertise? What niche do they fill and where can you fit in as a new business.

To establish your business you need an address. You can choose a PO Box or another mailbox service such as Mail Boxes ETC. I prefer MBE because you can choose a mailbox with a real street address. Not to mention they have many other services. Next get a separate phone number for your business. To legitimately create your business you should either have a Limited Liability Company (LLC) or a sole proprietorship. You can learn about this through an accountant or through websites like legalzoom.

With the rest of the money you saved you will have to determine how much is to be used for marketing and other expenses. Marketing is going to be the most essential thing for your business to get off the ground. Without marketing you don't have a business. Your marketing essentials are: to have your identity, your portfolio, and your line of communication.

Through the image library that you have created, pick your best images to use for your portfolio, website and all promotional and marketing materials. Your portfolio can be made w/ inkjet prints that you put in an album of choice such as albums provided by Topflight, photoalbumshop, or you can choose to have one printed by Asuka albums, or other online print labs such as Snapfish or Shutterfly. Your image identity is now established, and will grow over time. However you now need your business identity. What will your promotional materials look like? What font will you use? What colors will be incorporated? Will you use a logo? It may be a good idea to find a graphic designer to help you out with this. Once you figure out your business identity and incorporate it with your promotional materials you should create and print them all at once to distribute them all year. Make sure you have the basics like your business cards, postcards, brochure, contract, 8x10's and any other promotional materials you can think of. These materials can be ordered through gotprint.com and vistaprint.com.

After your promotional materials are finished and the portfolio is printed, you are ready to create your website. View other sites to get an idea of what style of site you want and how it will look. Search for someone else to create a website for you if you aren't educated in web development but having a professional do this can get a bit pricey. Some great alternatives are to use Craigslist or look into finding a student at a local college to do it. Make sure you work with your web developer in creating your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for the site. This is most important and is the best way to insure that you can create a web presence that is optimized for search engines. The template DIY websites don't work well for SEO. SEO will concentrate on key wording, alt tags, one-way links, and proper site submissions.

You now have a business ready to start seeing some return. People are ready to see your business and it's your job to reach out and find them. It is your job to know your market and tap it with your presence. I suggest that it is priority to get a creative ad on Craigslist. Why not it's free? Now that you have all of your promotional materials printed out, where are you going to distribute them? Research all local, state, or nationwide wedding industry businesses, and create a directory of them for your advertising. Create your promotional packets with cover letter, brochure, postcards, and a mini portfolio or something that shows your style in more depth. This is a lot of work and may take a while. Get help from friends, family or again posting an ad on Craigslist for some temporary help. After you have mailed everything, follow up with phone calls to let them know who you are. This will help provide a personal connection to your materials and help start future relationships. Building relationships is very important and will help bring work your way through word of mouth. Another great way to build relationships and get your work out is to participate in any bridal shows that come to your area.

Knowing your business and what you offer to your clients and the industry is the most important thing. Just as it is important to know your self-identity as a person, so is it important to know your business identity. When the phone starts ringing people want to see confidence in you and your images. Just remember that images speak louder than words and that the cream always rises to the top.

Good Luck!

Wedding Photograph Albums - How To Secure Long Lasting Memories Of The Big Day

There are a multitude of things to arrange for any wedding - some pleasant and some less so. When it comes to lasting memories of the big day however, the wedding photography album plays an enormous part - so it is important that a little time is taken beforehand to consider how you want the album to look and what you want it to contain.

When it comes to the layout, if you took a peek at any modern day wedding photograph album and compared it one from your parent's generation you wouldn't see an enormous difference. The typical album layout contains a portrait of the bride in her gown and then further photos of the bride and groom usually in picaresque surroundings. Next will come pictures of the entire wedding party all dressed up for the occasion. This is of course the group of people that play a significant part in the day's activities such as the bridesmaids and the best man. The bride will have a picture of her with her attendants and then usually the groom with his best men.

The next two sections are those reserved for the groom and his family and then the bride and her family. The wedding photograph album will also be presented so as to complement the service with a fancy cover and expensive laid inner pages with covers over each image. Most wedding photo albums are presented in white to symbolize the purity of the service with traditional wedding symbols on the cover.

When it comes to the size of wedding photograph albums: 4 x 6, 5 x 7 and 8 x 10 are the most common sizes, with leather bound being the most popular presentation.

Tradition states that wedding albums use gold or silver (especially the text) with the photos laid out inside shaped 'masks' for added effect. These days, wedding photographers will probably have a digital version of the wedding photographs available on a computer disc. Many hundreds of images can now be stored on a CD Rom which makes these digital wedding photo albums simple to carry around and display on a TV screen with little chance of damage. These shots can also be uploaded to an online photo sharing site which means online wedding photo albums are now also becoming popular.

Images stored on disc are easily reproduced so every single guest can benefit from a full set of pictures in a digital wedding photo album. There are a number of benefits to this because not only can the images be viewed digitally but also printed out in the traditional manner at home or at a regular photo printing store. As modern technology allows even the newer digital photo frames will become more commonplace, where photos like this can be viewed at random.

Whimsical Wedding Photography - 7 Secrets To Help You Achieve It

Whimsical wedding photography is all about bringing the creative and slightly abstract world of imagination into the realm of reality via a creative eye. Here's 7 things that should help a professional wedding photographer or engaged couple achieve a whimsical wedding photography shoot.

1. Movies Make Great Props - Think back to the early classic movies where people were starting to create imagery that combined their imagination with the real world. Like Marie Popins, The Wizard of Oz, or Aladdin. Use props that you'd find in these to help create an imaginary element to your images.

2. Comfort - My best photos will often happen half way through the wedding photography shoot if the couple isn't relaxed and comfortable around me. Do what you can to meet your photographer before the wedding in a place where you can laugh a little together (engagement shoots are perfect for this). Don't be shy about interacting with each other a little during the hours before the wedding or you'll not be relaxed when you really want to be - in front of the camera on the wedding photography.

3. Confidence - Confidence in front of the camera is such a key. I'm not talking about becoming a catwalk model, but the confidence that lets you get a little creative and playful in front of the camera. You'll get this through practice (again the engagement shoots are helpful) but also focusing on your partner rather than the photographer. Make them laugh, give them a push, smack 'em on the bum, climb stuff, pick each other up. The last person you want to be shy around is your photographer - or you'll get boring 'look and smile' type photos.

4. Avoid the shopping mall - Unique or striking locations are a must have in my opinion. If you're looking for wedding photography locations in Auckland check out my website below. Places with tunnels, cliffs, striking beaches, contrasting colours, anything that is a little out of the ordinary is a real key. I even find sneaking out for 5 minutes in the dark at the reception a great opportunity to get some creative wedding photos. There's nothing like a starry night for a whimsical look.

5. Creative editing - Ensure your photographer has evidence of developing whimsical photos before you choose them. A lot is done in the hours and hours of editing after the wedding. The 'almost unreal' feel of whimsical photography is best drawn out via a slight tweak in lighting or contrast that comes in the editing suite.

6. Energy - Let's face it, a wedding day is exhausting. So don't burn out in front of the camera and miss your chance for whimsical creative photos when you're looking amazing. Get yourself a good breakfast, don't skip lunch and have someone organise a collection of snacks and energy drinks for the wedding party during the photo shoot.

7. Down Time - Tying in closely with number 6, but a little different. Whimsical photography comes through what I'd call structured and unstructured images. I'd ware any bridal party out (and myself) trying to force structured images throughout the shoot - "do this, do that, walk here, jump there". Talk to your photographer about having some quality downtime DURING the photo shoot. 5 minutes on a rug just hanging out with your partner can create some of the most intimate whimsical photography available. It's just a matter of choosing carefully where you have this downtime. It needs to be in a striking location and you need to be able to forget about the photographer.

Why You Should Avoid Cheap Wedding Photographers - And Why You Should Be Happy to Pay More

Finding a wedding photographer can be a hard task. Many people only look for cheap wedding photographers; off course they end up saving some money, but this more often than not comes at a high price. Of course nobody will know what this high price was until at least a month after the wedding. Beware of minimal wedding quotations... more often than not they are at the base of a photography disaster. If a wedding photographer offers his services for say 250 or 300 Dollars, giving you three hours of photographic coverage, he or she is very likely to have to turn down a bigger booking for the same day later on. An amateur will probably not have another bigger booking ahead, so there is nothing to lose.

A professional wedding photographer will take much more than 250 or 300 pounds for a day's work (I'll tell you why later), so if he or she will really take so little for a day's work (and a lot more work after your wedding, as you will read later), chances are that he or she is not a professional photographer but just an amateur. Good luck to you! Most people looking for cheap wedding photographers have never hired a wedding photographer before, so they don't really know how to look for one. It's a zoo out there and it's really hard to find good and true information.

The internet doesn't really help either, because virtually all wedding websites offer paid information that can't obviously be negative, as everyone tends to safeguard their advertisers. It is not easy, but you should try to find a website that has no advertising interests and that will tell you how a photographer really is. The best place for this purpose is a customer reviews website, but again, it's very hard to find them.

By reading a wedding photographer review you can see what other people had to say about their experiences. Someone who is not very confident in his/her performance (for example a weekend photographer, a student or a freshly graduate), will still advertise all over the place, this is what makes the choice really hard: internet is reachable by virtually anyone, anywhere on the planet. It's not like years ago, when you could only purchase expensive adverts on real magazines. Internet is free! So you don't really know who is a pro and who is a student out there.

Talking about Canada, Vancouver is statistically the most expensive city in Canada, but a Vancouver Wedding Photographer is not necessarily more expensive than other wedding photographers in Canada. Inexpensive wedding Photographers can be found in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto Ontario, as well as in Vancouver. The real question is: do you want a cheap wedding photographer? A wedding involves a lot of "invisible" work that, like it or not, it has to be paid for. In my experience with weddings, the average photography job will keep a person busy for about 70 hours all included. Yes, that's right.

Beginning from meeting the bride and groom, to the delivery of the wedding album, wedding box or any other kind of finished work, a wedding is very time consuming for a photographer. The days in which wedding photographers only shot 100 images during the whole day are long gone. Nowadays wedding photographers (with the advent of digital photography) shoot a very large number of images, often touching the 2000 mark and these images require some substantial work. They eventually need to be digitally edited, fixed, chosen, printed, sorted, mounted... it's an awful lot of work! Getting the picture?

If you divide the total cost of the photographer by 70 hours, you will see what the Photography Company (NOT the Photographer) is actually getting. To that amount you have to take away all of the expenses (including the office rent, personnel expenses and bills) and you will easily see that there will be not much left. At this point there could be THREE possibilities: Someone that offers you very low wedding quotations is very unlikely to be a professional photographer because he or she:

1) Will NOT mind to work nearly for free (hobbyist)

2) Will NOT work for 70 hours on your wedding (probably has another job)

3) IS in desperate need of building a portfolio to gain work (zero experience)

All three cases are screaming an eventual DISASTER... So, as you can see, there are a lot of things to consider when choosing a wedding photographer and by now, you should understand why wedding photographers are expensive and why a cheap one cannot possibly be a pro. If you do want to save money and are willing to take a few risks, then I would advice you to hire a student photographer. Always make sure to get some sort of references; a teacher reference is considered to be the best one. In the early days photographers heavily relied on photo labs. Nowadays everything is done digitally, so the lab is history. The downside of this is that the photographer has a workload that is much bigger than before.

The reason why so many hours are needed is because digitally editing images takes a very long time. An image must first be opened in Photoshop (or similar photo editing program), it must be color calibrated, brightness, contrast, hue, white balance... there are so many adjustments to do and these are incredibly time consuming. Without creating any special effect, a single photographs will keep a photographer busy for approximately 6 minutes. Now when you multiply the average 6-7 minutes by the images you are getting, you can easily imagine what the photographer has been though. Then if you are getting some images with special effect, that can take hours for each photograph... 30 minutes is a short time for these modifications. I have heard many times people complaining about how much a wedding photographer makes: "1000 Dollars for just one day of work!" But it's not... it's 1000 dollars for about 70 hours of work... that is two weeks and it's not much at all when you think of all the bills and tax they have to pay to keep their business running. I hope this article helped you understand why photographers charge so much money for "one day's work".

Poses for Wedding Photographs - Top 6 Suggestions

Many brides are changing things up a bit for their wedding photography. This is often a great idea and can produce elegant and fun loving results. However, having unusual poses can add more fun and romance to your wedding album. In addition to your 'normal' wedding shots of the ceremony and reception you can brainstorm on some possible staged poses for your photographer to consider.

An experienced photographer will be able to assist you in finding the ideal posed pictures that will add more romance and fun to your wedding pictures. Here are some of the top suggestions among brides for their 'naturally posed' wedding pictures.

1. Bride and groom in the background while the focus is on the bride's bouquet.

2. A focus shot of the bride looking at her father with the entire wedding party in the background slightly out of focus.

3. The bride being swept away by her husband all over again, either being lifted up by him or even a more simple pose of her leaning against a wall while he is staring into her eyes with passion.

There are several poses that are perfect for a romantic setting while other poses are more fun loving and flirtatious. Such as:

4. The bride running away from the groom with her dress flowing in the wind while he is chasing her.

5. The groom standing behind the bride holding her as her veil blows in the breeze beside the tow of them.

6. The groomsmen holding the bride with her gown flowing down.

Depending on the theme and time of year your wedding is, you can really be creative. One suggestion is to give you photographer an idea of the type of photographs you would like taken and allow him or her to come up with poses that will capture exactly what you want. Most photographers enjoy on the spot fun photographs with the bride, groom and wedding party.

Another suggestion would be to look through some of the bridal magazines and take ideas from that. Although the background might be different, the style and essence of the picture should be similar. You can even look at other photographers websites and get ideas of what you would like as your fun loving or romantic 'naturally posed' wedding pictures. The only thing that will limit your creativity is you. If you are not a very creative person, you can always enlist your future husband to help you with some poses.

Tips For Finding a Wedding Photographer

Your wedding day will pass in a hectic blur. Finding the right photographer to capture all the moments you'll want to remember - such as the bride's walk down the aisle, the father-daughter dance, the best man's toast, and all the rest - is important. A professional wedding photographer can capture the most heartfelt and genuine moments, and make it possible for you and your family to relive your wedding day every time you look at the pictures.

Choosing the right wedding photographer can seem difficult, not to mention expensive. A good rule of thumb is to realize that the most expensive photographer doesn't necessarily mean your pictures will be the best. Look for a photographer that has many sample pictures, as well as one with a list of satisfied references. It can also help to ask family and friends if they can recommend anyone.

Be sure to let the photographer know any specific pictures you want to take beforehand. There are usually a standard set of pictures that wedding photographers take - groomsmen, bride and mother, etc. Anything out of the ordinary should be discussed with the photographer beforehand to make sure the taking of the picture can be worked into the photo shoot. Also let the photographer know of any pictures that you do not want him or her to take. Letting your photographer know this before the wedding will give him or her time to plan and schedule a set of pictures so the wedding day photo shoot goes quickly and smoothly.

Find out exactly what is included in the photographer's price. How will the pictures be sent to you and when can you expect to receive them? Many photographers offer wedding packages, some including pre-assembled photo albums. Look through the packages and decide which you'd like best. A professional photographer can also customize a package to better suit your needs.

You may want to ask your wedding photographer if you can purchase or have a CD or DVD of the original photographs, or the original negatives if the photos were taken on film. This will make it easier for you to make extra prints in the future.

Make sure your photographer has first hand knowledge of the venue before the wedding day. Some photographers will go to the rehearsal to get a feel for the setting and plan out certain shots. This is also a good time to let the photographer know of any aspects of the venue that you do not want to see in photographs.

Finally, make sure your photographer and you enter into an agreement - or contract - that includes all the services that he/she is providing, as well as the price and cancellation policy.

Finding the right photographer and having a specific picture-taking plan will help you enjoy your special day. With the right wedding photographer, you'll be able to enjoy the moments for many years in shots that capture the excitement, love, and sentimentality of your wedding.

Best Singapore Pre Wedding Photography Location

Singapore has many beautiful and exotic places that are suitable for wedding photography. Because of the usually good weather, it is definitely one of the best places to take wedding photographs and have them immortalized. There are a lot of places in Singapore that are really good, but we had to slim it down to a few. From parks to the urban picture, from the classic home setting to the modern city life, Singapore is surely to take your breath away.

Marina Promenade is one of the locations that can bring you back to nature while still staying within the sophistication of the urban life. The picturesque is different at every turn. There are the more natural palm trees and water forms, from the sky wheel to the skyscrapers. For better lighting, there are lots of trees in the park so the shading and the light can help with a good picture. View of the water is very much abundant especially across the condominiums.

There is also the east and west Bishan Park. The west gives a beautiful Asian garden-inspired scenery that creates different views and options to provide you a beautiful picture. The east however, gives you more lighting and a lighter, more urban feel with condominiums although there are still a few grassy areas and a large field with the buildings as backdrop.

If you are interested in having a port area as your location, the Labrador Park can give you just that. It gives you the view of clear blue waters under the wooden bridge, stone benches, antique warfare, and an old lighthouse.

If you opt for one that has height, the Telok Blanah Hill Park is a photo haven above the city. The hill in itself is beautiful with staircases that seem to lead up to the sky with flowers and trees.

No matter which pre wedding photography location you choose, the most important thing is to enjoy the photoshoot with your loved one.

Hot Trends in Wedding Photography

Like any other aspect of a wedding, the photography follows trends and fresh ideas. The stiff group portraits that were the standard in wedding photography for generations have become the exception rather than the norm. For inspiration for your own wedding, check out these hot trends in wedding photography.

Informal candids are definitely the most popular variety of wedding photos. They are intended less to be a visual record of who was at the wedding, and more as a fluid overview of some of the high points of the day. They should capture the mood and spirit of the wedding by giving the viewer glimpses into the little moments that make the day special. The bride might want her photographer to be there when she is getting into her bridal gown and wedding jewelry to get a snapshot of her dress going over her head or her sister struggling to pin on her veil. A good candid photographer will have an eye for the other memorable parts of a wedding, from capturing a meaningful glance exchanged by the bride and groom to the look of pure joy on the face of a flower girl on the dance floor. Your guest book will tell you who was at the wedding; the candid photos should show what they did and capture the festive spirit of the event.

Wedding photography taken in unusual places is one of the hottest rising trends in weddings. Many of these pictures are taken as engagement photos before the wedding, but they are nothing like the posed studio shots your parents had taken when they announced their betrothal. Urban backgrounds are particularly popular, ranging from black and white photos set against a towering city skyline to gritty scenes in front of graffitied brick walls. For couples who do not live in a city, popular backgrounds include seasides, natural locations, and even places like carnivals and zoos. These settings are also gaining popularity for day-of-wedding photography; the contrast between the wild setting and the bride in her exquisite bridal gown, veil, and wedding jewelry makes for an interesting juxtaposition which gives the pictures an edgy quality.

Another trend in wedding photography is to make pictures a part of the event itself, rather than just something to look over weeks later. The rise in digital photography has made this possible. For instance, you might have the photographer use the photos he took during the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour to project as a slideshow onto a wall during the reception. Digital photo booths are finding popularity instead of traditional wedding favors. The guests can go into the booth and have their pictures taken as an instant keepsake of the day. Some of the photo booths will even have a monitor on the outside which will show all of the pictures taken during the reception as a slideshow for everyone to enjoy. An added bonus is that the newlyweds can get a copy of all of their guests's pictures burned on a disc for them to have as a souvenir.

There are several other up and coming ideas in wedding photography, including using images of the bride and groom on save-the-date cards, favor boxes, and even the wedding cake. Many couples are eschewing the traditional heavy wedding album and choosing to have customized photo books created online instead. With all of the amazing technology at our fingertips, wedding photography is a field that is only going to continue evolving in new and fascinating directions.

Designing the iPad Wedding Album - Top Apps for Editing Photos on the iPad

Most photographers and iPad users may argue upon the use of the iPad as an editing platform. Wouldn't it be better to edit photos on a personal computer or Mac using a robust editing software than using the iPad apps?

Our counter argument would be that editing on the iPad is unmatched when it comes to quick and uncomplicated editing.

For all the apps, you need an image to work on. Some popular ways to get photos on your iPad:

1. Importing photos from camera or computer wirelessly or through USB cable

2. Downloading photos on to your iPad from your email

3. Tethering your iPad to your camera while shooting and using the stored photos

Once you have your photo, open those photos on the editing app and you are good to go.

Top Apps for editing and designing photos in the iPad

Photogene

By far one of the best photo-editing tools for the iPhone and the iPad, Photogene is no lite editing software. You can carry out series of editing at the touch of your hand. You can adjust the color saturation, sharpen the photos, add effects such as sepia or B/W, add/edit text, add borders, modify the color curve (not many apps offer this one) and even save the photo to the desired resolution. Double click to zoom and edit specific areas.

A reset button will take you back to the unaltered original image. You can share the photo on Twitter and Facebook or email it directly from the app.

PhotoPal

PhotoPal is one of the simplest full-fledged editing tools in the App Store. It is great for users who have never done any editing previously, but would like to turn the heat on with some experimentation. Some of the salient features are its red-eye removal tool, unwanted spot eraser and the de-noise tool (to get rid of the unwanted fuzziness).

The instant sharing on Twitter, Facebook and Flickr is another great addition on PhotoPal making it an all-in-one package for easy editing.

PixelMagic

PixelMagic can be counted as one of the top professional editing app developed for the iPad. It has features equivalent to a PC/Mac based photo editing software. There are 12 different category of tools, each harboring at least 10 more further options. The tool manager is fairly simple for such an advanced app, making the editing a joyous affair.

PhotoPad

PhotoPad was created specifically for the iPad. It comes with all the usual basic editing tools such as cropping, paint brush, paint bucket, rotate, image scaling, filters, color adjustments, and plenty more. Each of these can be adjusted further more to create custom effects.

However, the cons include: No option for sharing or email. The photos can be only in the photos folder of the iPad. In addition, you cannot set the aspect ratio or the pixel specification for the crop tool.

It is free and fantastic if you want a lighter editing app for your wedding photos.

Filterstorm

This app was developed by a photographer for editing on the go. This app has a clone tool, aspect ratio lockable crop tool, canvas adjustment tools (color, hue, b/w, scale, rotate, etc.) and a worthwhile collection of filters that makes it a powerful editing tool. As you edit the application creates a visual history of your edits. This makes it easier to undo your edits. Only drawback is, it was not created exclusively for the iPad and lacks the Apple feel.

Three Issues to Consider When Choosing the Lingerie For Your Wedding Lingerie Shoot

The Wedding Lingerie shoot has become a new tradition in western wedding days. However choosing the right lingerie can make a huge difference between a comfortable lingerie shoot, or one that is not so comfortable.

One of the biggest things you must consider once you have decided that you want to do a wedding lingerie photo shoot is to choose a photographer that you will be comfortable being with, in what you want to wear. Choosing the right lingerie for this shoot is absolutely paramount because the quality of the photos you get will be dependent on how comfortable you feel. For most people this is the first time that you will be exposed in a way that only your partner has probably seen and this can be an issue for some people.

First Item to Consider - Climate

When you are planning your photo shoot, you need to ensure that the lingerie you choose is suitable for your climate. For example if you are in a tropical climate like in Townsville then the type of lingerie that you choose should be a lighter fabric, it should be comfortable to wear in the heat if you are doing outdoor shots and it shouldn't make you sweat or feel uncomfortable. At the same time if you were doing your photo shoot during winter in a colder climate like Melbourne or Hobart then the lingerie you wear in an outdoor photo should be of a heavier fabric.

You may even consider in a colder climate to wear a corset, wedding lingerie mini skirt and a fur lined robe. If you dare, you might try wearing a demi cup bra with white satin garter belt and a white full length fur lined robe.

Second Item to Consider - Location

A wedding lingerie photo shoot is about you showing your sexy side. It is not about creating pornographic images. The traditional wedding lingerie photo shoot is about art and the beauty, so when you choose your location ensure that you are going to have privacy so that you will feel comfortable in doing the photos.

The other thing to consider with location is the style of lingerie you are going to wear. If the location is in a studio then the photos can be as revealing or exposed as you feel comfortable with however in outdoor shoots you will need to consider the local laws. In some cities and even countries, exposing of certain parts of the body may attract the attention of the local law enforcement bodies.

Wedding lingerie is often more exposing than the traditional swim suits and there is often a fine line as to what is acceptable. Demi cup bras are in huge demand at in western cultures however this type of item does reveal the breasts and this may not be suitable for some cultures. One way around this is to use pasties over nipples to ensure that you are not exposing yourself.

Third Item to Consider - How Many Pieces

Generally most brides to be have between 1 and 3 different pieces of lingerie that they will have their photos in. The three most common pieces we have seen people use are -

1. A white demi cup bra, g-string and garter belt with white stockings and gloves and high heeled shoes and a veil
2. Corset and G-String with veil
3. Wedding G-string with cuffs, garter, white stockings and high healed shoes.

The first item I mentioned could also be accessorised with jewellery and pasties for the demi-cup bra. Some ladies don't feel comfortable wearing a g-string especially the plus-size ladies, so an alternative to the g-string is the white lace mini skirt or a pearl lace panty which is similar to a standard panty. I recommend the white lace mini skirt for anyone who feels uncomfortable wearing a g-string in front of anyone that is not your betrothed. The white lace mini skirt could also be substituted in the third piece.

The last set of items are a little daring as they require you to cross your arms across the breasts so that they are not showing whilst being cuffed. An alternative way of doing this photo shoot is to wear a robe so that your breasts are covered. This will allow you to show the garter on your leg whilst not exposing your breasts.

The bottom line with choosing the lingerie for your wedding day lingerie photo shoot is to wear lingerie you will feel comfortable in, in front of the photographer. I always recommend that you take along a chaperone for the shoot for your own protection and comfort. Enjoy the shoot as these photos will be part of your memorable day for your entire marriage.

Consider a Photo Blanket As a Unique Wedding Gift

Wedding gift giving traditions are quickly changing over the years, and many wedding guests now search for unique ideas such as a personalized wedding gift and forgo the registry or fine china. A wedding photo blanket is a particularly popular gift for the happy couple, and may be given by either a close friend or family member, as well as become a wedding day gift from one spouse to the other.

Several choices exist when ordering photo blankets, including either fleece, knitted or woven options. Each type of blanket will create a different type and quality of image, but it's most important that the style fit the couple's personality when given as a wedding photo blanket. Would they prefer a fringed, stitched or finished edge? Should you include a personalized text message on the photo blanket?

Popular choices in photos when creating a wedding photo blanket include pictures of the happy couple during their courtship, as well as individual photos from their childhoods. If the couple has children or pets together, photos of these important influences on their lives are especially appropriate for a personalized wedding gift. You may also determine that a collage or collection of photos will create the most ideal gift for the special couple if you can't choose just one.

Your personalized wedding gift may be ordered in a small, standard, large or extra large size; these typically range from 30' x 40' to 60' x 80'. When giving one of these blankets to the happy couple, consider a larger size to accommodate them both for those cold nights spent snuggling on the couch!

Depending upon the type of wedding photo blanket you choose, you can order it anywhere from 5 to 14 days before the big event and still receive it in time to give to the couple. You may decide to go with either a 100% cotton or polar tec fleece material. Fleece blankets use a dye sublimation process to print your personalized wedding gift, but these as well as images woven into or printed on cotton blankets will last forever.

Every wedding is special, and a personalized wedding gift offers an appropriate alternative that is just as unique as the bride and groom. Newlyweds always appreciate the thoughtfulness required when choosing a personalized wedding gift, making a wedding photo blanket one they will both use regularly and remember receiving years from now.

Tips on How to Celebrate Your Wedding Anniversary This Year

Marriage is wonderful and a bit complicated. It is a serious commitment between two individuals. That commitment should be remembered no matter how long you have been together for a long time. It is a promise that the couple made in front of witnesses, not just on the wedding day but for the days and years beyond. It is a commitment that makes two people willing to grow old together no matter what the circumstances.

Being married is not that easy. The sweet, rough, pain and happy moment that you both have been through together and your marriage bond still going strong from year to year is something for both of you to be proud of.

And this year, do something different to celebrate your wedding anniversary from the previous year.

Go for vacation

It such a long time you both have never gone for a vacation. Take a break. Apply for a week's leave. Sit down together and discuss where to go. But, please, no fighting over the decision of the place to go. Think of a place that you both like to go. List down of all the places in a piece of paper and don't forget about the budget. Going for a vacation is not meant to be broke after coming back from the vacation. The kids? What about the kids? There are two solutions. Whether you leave them behind with someone you trust, such as your parents or your in-laws or you take them along. But, beware. You both might be very tired after the vacation with the kids.

Do fun activities together

Is there an activity that you both love doing it together but don't have the time? Activity such as, cycling, hiking, camping, riding on a hot air balloon, boating, riding horses or even going to movie together. If yes, this is the time. Take a leave and off you go, please. You will realize there is so much of missing moments between both of you.

Dine out or specially cook

If you both can't take leave, celebrate it romantically with candle light dinner either at your favorite restaurant or at home. If you are to celebrate at home, cook something special. Talking about cooking something special, wife do you still remember what was your 1st cooking after you got married? An over cooked meal with a burned fish? Perhaps you can still cook the dish but give it a slight better cooking this time. Ask your husband, "Do you still remember my 1st cooking for you?" Let's hear his answer then. The situation might also be vice versa, where the husband was the one who cooked 1st time after got married.

If you choose to have outside dinner, I would suggest that you both go to the first dining restaurant that you went for your dating last time. It will bring back nostalgia to both of you.

Drop a special note

On the day of the anniversary, husband, leave a note on the dressing table or on the bath room mirror or stick it at the refrigerator before you go to work. A simple note saying that, "Honey, I love you. Thanks for being me after all these years." Well, you can compose a better love notes than I am. If you find hard to compose one, get a book on love notes from amazon.com or barnesandnobles.com. Or, take a lyric from a love song that you both enjoy listening.

Traditional gifts

Husband, if you are planning to give a traditional gift for your wife such as flowers, please put an add-on to it. You can combine flowers with chocolate; flowers with keepsake box; flowers with ticket to movie show; flowers with aromatherapy massage oil or flowers with jewelry. Wife, if you are planning to give a gift for your husband, perhaps you can get him a set of toiletries of his favorite designer fragrances, a new shirt with his favorite color, tickets to his favorite sports event or gifts that are related to his hobby. Not another socks, ties, undergarment please.

Seeds of Love

Husband/wife, your spouse enjoys gardening. Choose few packets of vegetables seeds or flower seeds of her/his favorite selection and wrap it in a pot where the plant going to be plant. Write down a note saying that "Let's plant together our Seeds of Love and let our love grow each minute, each day, each week, each month and years". (Our note is just an example. You can compose a better one that ours.) And, do plant the seeds together. Choose a special moment for both of you to plant it.

Create "Do You Still Remember This Moment?" Scrapbook

Do you have a memorable photo apart from your wedding photo? A long time vacation photo, a birthday photo, any photo which the event was a memorable one. Pick as much photos as you can and start doing your "Do You Still Remember This Moment?" scrapbook. With this type of creative memory scrapbooks, memories come back to life when the books are viewed. Pictures make more sense as they are paired with words or laid out in an organized fashion. Reliving moments preserved in the scrapbooks could be a good way to keep family ties and strengthen bonds. Additionally, well kept books could serve as heirlooms that would keep a family's legacy throughout the coming generations.

The renewal of vows

The renewal of vows is a ceremony where a couple relives their commitment and vows to reaffirm their love and devotion to one another. The couple can set a date that will coincide with the date they celebrated their original wedding. Many couples prefer to renew their vows on the exact date of the 10th, 20th, 25th, or 50th anniversary of their wedding. These are significant dates that they cherish, despite the trials in life as married couples. It is also important and significant to many couples who wish to celebrate their marriage with their families and friends. This celebration is very significant to many couples because they would once again affirm their commitment be unified with love.

Time is a luxury that people do not have. There are things that are beyond the control of people that are unforeseen which happen in the blink of an eye. The best thing to do is spend quality time together no matter how short or long, making each other feel loved and special at all times, even though if it is not yet your anniversary day to celebrate.

Wedding Photography As Wall Murals

Your wedding. The single most important day of your life. You've spent a lifetime dreaming about it and long months preparing for it. Why not capture the essence of that day in a photograph made into a wall mural?

You dreamed it, planned every detail, loved every minute of it...And now you have your wedding memories captured forever on your cherished wedding photos. Perhaps you have a framed portrait on your mantel, your desk, or on your bedside table. You love to look back upon your wedding photos and remember that day.

Your wedding was a declaration of your love for each other. On that day you were a true fairy princess, and your groom was your night in shining armor. On that day you were at your most beautiful, a vision of white, full of hope and the promise of a lifetime of love. The way your groom looked upon you sends shivers down your spine every time you think about it.

If you love to reflect back upon your wedding day and how wonderful you felt, you are a true romantic. Why not take that joy and make it even bigger? You can take your favorite wedding photo and have it made into an exquisite custom wall mural. Imagine, your favorite wedding photo or portrait, up close and personal, enlarged into life-sized dimensions and displayed lovingly on your wall as a unique art piece.

Colored photos are vibrant and are the truest to life. Perhaps you have a favorite sunset portrait, or an image of your groom holding you in a loving embrace with the sunshine reflecting off your face just so.

Black and white wedding photography is timeless and high on drama. One of your favorite monochrome or grey scale pictures will look super-sophisticated as a wall mural. A special moment captured forever in still form and scaled up in size will be a stunning addition to a favorite room in your happy home.

Just where is the perfect place to display your wedding mural? Treating it as the high art it is, it will make a wonderful focal point of your living room, for all to see and enjoy.

A more romantic picture may be better suited to the confines of your powder room. And save the most intimate image for your eyes only, in the privacy of your master bedroom or master closet.

Wherever you choose to hang your mural, you can be sure your most cherished wedding memory is captured forever in the largest and most expressive way.

Guidelines on Taking (Or Not Taking) Wedding Pictures on LDS Temple Grounds

Getting sealed in the an LDS Temple is the most important day of an LDS bride and groom's lives - and the perfect way to document it is with wedding pictures on LDS temple grounds. Photography isn't allowed inside the temple for the sealing, but couples can take pictures anywhere they like on temple grounds before or after the ceremony (do it will care-but you can have fun at the same time).

The various LDS Temple grounds all over the world offer beautiful scenery for outdoor pictures no matter what the season of the year, both because they are meticulously landscaped and because the temple has a symbolic beauty all its own. Outdoor photos are always pretty to look at, but temple grounds pictures also have a spiritual dimension to your photographs that makes them even more special.

Because the LDS temple is a holy place, it's important to remind guests about what type of behavior is appropriate on temple grounds while the photographs are being taken. Those who are not Latter-day Saints will need to know that the LDS temple is more than just a wedding venue; people come to worship at the temple, so guests' behavior on temple grounds should not detract from the spiritual experience of anyone else who is coming to the temple that day. Be quiet and respectful, as if you were outside of a church.

The wedding photographer should also understand the significance of the temple to you personally. Even if he or she is a Mormon or LDS Photographer, you still need to briefly describe your feelings about the sacred temple and how you would like it featured in your photographs. Talk in specific terms, giving a number of photos that you would like to have the temple be included in as part of the wedding photography package. Mention these and other "must have" shots on temple grounds that every Mormon bride and groom should have:

• Exiting the LDS temple after the sealing (wedding)
• Holding hands or kissing in front of the LDS temple
• A close up shot of the bride and groom with the temple spire overhead
• A shot from behind of the bride and groom looking toward the LDS temple together
• Joint bride and groom entire family in photos with the temple in the background

It's a good idea to visit beforehand (with your photographer, if possible) to explore temple grounds and find the best picture-taking locations. Look beyond just the front lawn of the temple. Some temples have pretty pathways winding all the way around the temple, and others may have grassy areas with benches and flowers that extend quite a way off from the temple itself. Look for all picture-taking opportunities where they are afforded. Formal shots framed against a beautiful backdrop of fresh greenery look wonderful.

LDS Temple grounds across the world are quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and spiritual place and the perfect location for LDS brides and grooms to take lots of picture before and after their LDS Temple Sealing. What more could you ask for in a wedding photography location? Portraits of the bride and groom, the entire wedding party and family members look great with the temple landscaping in the background, and shots that include the temple spire represent the focal point of your LD Temple wedding day. You can also round out your temple grounds pictures with photos at the reception site afterwards.
