What Will You Buy for Your 10 Year Anniversary Gift?

The choices for wedding anniversary gifts are wide and vast and there is not just one option for gift-giving. There are a couple ways your can go when you give a partner or a couple a 10 year anniversary gift.

You can go traditional, dating back to the 1920's or you can go modern for the couple or partner that has collected most household items already. Here are the two categories most people choose from; traditional or modern.

Traditional Gifts:

For a more traditional gift, the 10th year anniversary is signified by a gift that is aluminum or tin. Gifts that are aluminum or tin would include a vase (with flowers in it of course), or an aluminum watch (perhaps with 10 diamonds?), a tin jewelery box or keepsake box (Ralph Lauren makes some beautiful ones) or aluminum tableware including decanters, platters, serving bowls or candlestick. Any of these gifts would be considered traditional.

Modern Gifts:

Then we have the more modern alternatives. Diamonds are always a safe choice provided that your personalize your gift in some way. Some ways you can make your gifts personal would be to engrave the inside of a ring or watch or you could use diamonds or a gemstone (perhaps a birthstone) to signify the number of years you have been together (such as 10 diamonds or pearls, etc).

Gifts for Men:

When considering jewelery for men, consider jewelery that is not too much hassle and can be taken off with ease so bracelets may outweigh other alternatives such as rings or necklaces. Men like pieces that are easy to take care of and easy to take off as they may not want to wear their jewelery all the time.

Wedding Album Gifts:

Another option, if diamonds aren't your style, could be an updated wedding album or wedding photo. Preparing an updated wedding album could mean having your photo enlarged and put into a new album (which may websites now offer) or even creating a calendar with selected pictures from your wedding day. You could also add comments about each picture and reflect back on the 10 years you have spent together.

Plan A Surprise Party:

Alternatively, you may want to plan a surprise party for your loved one. This can be a great idea as you can invite all of the guests that attended your wedding and even play a few hits from your wedding including your first dance song, your mother-son song, father-daughter song and so on.

There are many options to choose from for this special time. The important thing is to plan ahead and not walk into the day without having thought about how you are going to make your partner feel special; that is the best gift of all.
